The Precision Meso‑scale Technology Center (PMTC) located on Keysight’s campus in Santa Rosa, CA provides mechanical solutions that enable the capabilities of Keysight’s industry‑leading electronic measurement equipment. As a machinist you will develop and sustain machining processes utilizing cutting edge machine tools such as Swiss Style Lathes, Single and Multi‑Turret Lathes, and 3 to 5 axis Milling centers. Working closely with R&D on microwave applications, you will influence designs for mechanical components and assemblies, ensure design for manufacturability, facilitate release and support production.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC turning and/or milling equipment
Develop and optimize machining processes for precision components
Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition to production
Work closely with process engineers and design engineers to improve manufacturability
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
Perform in‑process inspection using precision metrology equipment
Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, quality, and process stability
Maintain high standards of safety, organization, and quality
Qualifications
Career‑level machinist with strong precision machining skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, and maintenance teams
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and flexibility in a dynamic shop environment
Experience with any of the following is highly valued:
3‑to‑5‑axis CNC milling
Swiss‑style lathes
Mill‑turn machining centers
Precision metrology and inspection
CNC programming / CAM software
CAD or solid modeling
Tool grinding
Interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T
Pay Range:
USD $67,030.00 - USD $111,720.00 Year
