Position Overview
This role supports
Air Force Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR)
initiatives with a focus on
Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
and Security Assistance Account property. The analyst delivers
auditable financial analysis, reconciliations, and documentation
in compliance with
federal accounting and audit standards . The position directly supports audit assertions, remediation, and internal control effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Support
financial statement audit assertions , asset valuation, and account reconciliations
Prepare and maintain
auditor‑ready workpapers and supporting documentation
Execute
audit remediation
activities and implement sustainable financial solutions
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and improve accuracy and compliance
Design, document, and test
internal controls (ICOFR)
supporting audit readiness
Coordinate with functional stakeholders to meet
federal audit and accounting requirements
Lead or support small teams or workstreams as required
Critical Skills & Experience
FIAR audit readiness and remediation
Foreign Military Sales (FMS) / Security Assistance financial processes
Financial statement audit support and assertion packages
Auditor‑ready documentation and reconciliations
Internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR)
Federal accounting standards (FASAB / SFFAS / GAAP / GAGAS)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Business, or related field , or 4+ years of relevant experience
5+ years
of experience in financial management, accounting, or audit support
Direct experience supporting
financial statement audits
Demonstrated ability to produce
defensible, audit‑ready deliverables
Experience leading or supervising small teams or defined workstreams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
FMS, Security Cooperation, or DoD financial environments
Strong background in
audit readiness, remediation, and internal controls
Experience preparing or reviewing
FIAR assertion packages / assessable units
Working knowledge of
OMB Circulars (A‑123, A‑127, A‑134, A‑136)
Professional certification:
CPA, CIA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM
