About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Accounting for a strategic, succession-planning role. This position is designed for a seasoned professional with a big-picture perspective, at least 20 years' experience in finance or accounting, and a strong background in the Property & Casualty (P&C) sector. The successful candidate will work closely with the current CFO and VP of Accounting to gain a deep understanding of the firm's financial operations, investment management, and strategic direction, with the goal of eventually assuming full leadership of the accounting and finance functions. Key responsibilities include strategic financial oversight, succession leadership, regulatory and board relations, operational planning, and risk and controls management.

The ideal candidate for this role at the company will have a CPA license or an MBA, with a preference for those holding both. Deep knowledge of statutory accounting principles and state insurance regulations is essential. The role requires a business-minded strategist who can influence the long-term trajectory of the organization, and the candidate should have a proven track record of leading cohesive teams and a desire to move into an executive-level position.
