Associate Art Director

Palm Beach Media Group is seeking an Associate Art Director to work on our lifestyle and custom magazine titles. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, detail oriented, and an excellent, proactive communicator able to take direction well and multitask. The Associate Art Director will be responsible for all aspects of the magazine design, collecting and sourcing photography, visual conceptualization of features, page layout/design within the existing style guidelines for each publication. He/she will be designing features, departments and other special projects, as needed, therefore strong typographic skills and an understanding of visual hierarchy are essential. We’re looking for someone with strong graphic design skills who can work closely with editors and photographers to craft the most compelling layouts for every story. The ideal candidate will have a true love of editorial design, typography, and printed materials.

The position reports to the Design Director of Palm Beach Media Group.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or Advertising required; or 3-5 years magazine experience.
• Strong experience in graphic design and layout for related media
• Excellent knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles; ability to portray a high taste level in all communication arts.
• Must be proficient in InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and other MAC based applications and design programs.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong visualization skills.
• The ability to multitask and work well under pressure while meeting deadlines is a must.
