Job Summary
The School Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.
Licensure
Current licensure through the Minnesota Board of Social Work required
Current School Social Worker license with the Minnesota Department of Education required
Experience
Preferred-three years of experience in social work
Experience working with middle school students
Experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred
Experience with academic planning and career exploration
Essential Skills Required
Experience with alternative pathways
Awareness of best practices for secondary counseling/procedures
Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices
Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
Experience working with diverse students and families
Assist with supervision of students during non-academic education activities
Salary Range
$44,182- $90,327
