Facilities Technician (Part-Time)
Schedule:

~24 hours/week (Friday–Sunday, 8‑hour days)

Pay:

$16.00 – $18.00/hour (based on experience)

The Kalamazoo Nature Center is hiring a Facilities Technician to help keep our spaces clean, safe, and ready for visitors, programs, and events.

What You’ll Do

Open and close buildings and grounds

Clean and maintain visitor and staff spaces

Perform basic groundskeeping (mowing, trimming, snow removal)

Set up and tear down for events and programs

Travel to nearby KNC sites for cleaning and light maintenance

Operate equipment (mowers, leaf blowers, etc.)

Help ensure facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming

What We’re Looking For

Experience with maintenance, facilities, or similar hands‑on work preferred

Ability to operate basic equipment (or willingness to learn)

Dependable, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated

Comfortable working both independently and on a team

Friendly, professional attitude

Valid driver's license

Working Conditions

Indoor and outdoor work in all seasons

Physical role (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for long periods)

Occasional evenings, holidays, and on‑call responsibilities
