At Brown Button Estate Sales, we help families transition well by professionally showcasing and selling their estate items through online estate sale. We’re hiring a Senior Cataloger to work on the on‑site preparation of these sales. This hands‑on role calls for someone with strong valuation judgment, natural organizational ability, and a love for turning household contents into curated, shoppable lots. Working in clients’ homes, you’ll shape the foundation of each sale—identifying value, grouping items, writing catalog descriptions, and spotting standout pieces for auction through our sister company, Circle Auction.
What You’ll Do
On‑Site Pricing & Lot Creation

Group household items into compelling, sellable lots using Brown Button’s proven 80/20 methodology
Identify which pieces should be cataloged as stand‑alone lots vs grouped with other pieces.
Help guide Cataloger team members on sorting logic, lot structure, and standards
Spot items that should be routed to Circle Auction for national exposure and higher price realization
Catalog Writing
Build accurate, appealing online listings using Brown Button’s cataloging platform
Assign lot titles, write concise descriptions, and note condition issues
Add important details such as brand names, materials, model numbers, measurements, etc.
Ensure lots meet Brown Button’s written and visual standards for clarity and professionalism
Maintain accuracy and efficiency to keep the project on timeline
Provide guidance and feedback to other catalogers to support consistent writing quality and accuracy
Valuation Judgment & Research
Apply broad category awareness across furniture, decor, art, kitchenware, collectibles, and more
Determine when an item needs further investigation and use online tools to confirm value
Collaborate with the Circle Auction appraisal team when encountering exceptional or unfamiliar pieces
Who You Are
A detail‑oriented generalist with deep, real‑world exposure to estate, resale, or antique markets
Someone with strong judgment and confidence in valuing a wide range of household categories
A self‑motivated problem solver who can work independently in varied home environments
Comfortable with light physical work (e.g. moving small furniture, staging group lots)
Bonus points if you have experience writing listings for auctions, eBay, or other online sales platforms
What You Know
You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but you should bring broad practical knowledge in at least some of the following areas:

High‑end decor, china, and glassware
Jewelry brands and accessories
Recognizing when an item may warrant deeper research or national exposure
Familiarity With
