
PLUMBER

Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair plumbing, mechanical, and heating systems and equipment at the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations and codes. Supervise and train prisoner work crews in performing these functions.
Education
High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience
Five years of experience in the plumbing trade, including one year equivalent to a Plumber E9.
Completion of a vocational training program in plumbing at the commercial or industrial level may substitute for two years of experience assisting skilled tradespeople.
May require possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State.
Possession of a journey plumber’s license issued by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth may be required.
Other Requirements
Positions may involve work that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or a journey plumber’s license.
Ethical Standards
The Department of Corrections may screen out job applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017. Applicants convicted of a misdemeanor or felony are ineligible for employment until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed, including parole or probation.
