Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Motor Winder with expertise in AC and/or DC motor winding to join our team. In this hands‑on role, you will wind the coils of AC and DC motors, ensuring that the winding process meets strict quality, safety, and performance standards. You will work with various materials, including copper wire, and use specialized winding machines and hand tools to produce motor windings for a wide range of applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of motor construction and winding techniques, attention to detail, and experience working with both AC and DC motors.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate winding machines and hand tools to wind stator and rotor coils for AC and DC motors, ensuring precise coil winding patterns and correct wire placement.
Handle copper wire, insulation materials, and other components, ensuring proper handling, cutting, and spooling as per specifications.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, motor blueprints, and technical drawings to determine winding specifications such as number of turns, coil dimensions, and wire gauge.
Inspect wound coils for defects, such as improper winding tension, wire misalignment, or insulation issues, and perform testing to ensure the coils meet required electrical and mechanical specifications.
Set up winding equipment for different motor types and sizes, and perform regular maintenance and cleaning of winding machines and tools to maintain operational efficiency.
Identify and resolve issues related to winding machinery, material handling, or motor assembly.
Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with electrical components, winding machines, and other tools.
Keep accurate records of production, including winding specifications, motor assembly details, and testing results.
Collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient production of high-quality motors.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Years of Experience: 2–4 years in motor manufacturing or related electrical equipment repair.
Qualifications
Experience in motor manufacturing or electrical equipment repair.
Proficiency in motor winding techniques for AC and/or DC motors, including the use of automatic and manual winding machines.
Understanding of insulation types, wire gauges, and coil patterns.
Familiarity with motor testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with motor components and assembly processes.
Strong attention to detail, enabling high precision in winding coils and assembling motors to specifications.
Problem‑solving ability to troubleshoot winding and motor assembly issues, including identifying defective parts and adjusting the process.
Physical capability to handle materials, lift heavy motor parts, and stand for extended periods; good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Safety awareness and knowledge of safety protocols for working with electrical machinery and materials.
Effective communication skills for reporting issues, collaborating with the team, and understanding technical instructions.
Work Environment
Full‑time position.
Manufacturing or workshop environment with exposure to electrical components, machines, and noise.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).
Team‑oriented work environment interacting with engineers, quality control staff, and production teams.
