
Mental Health Professional - Lead (#021863) Broad River CI, Columbia (RICHLAND)

Responsibilities
Provides mental health assessments and therapeutic services including crisis management and intervention.
Coordinates mental health services in assigned areas.
Assists the mental health administrator to provide mental health services oversight at Broad River, Manning and Lee Correctional Institutions.
Conducts assessments and provides treatment recommendations and counseling for inmates and maintains accurate documentation.
Conducts group counseling for specified inmates.
Provides regular feedback to mental health team, medical and security staff on referred inmates.
Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Provides crisis intervention as requested by mental health and/or medical staff.
Participates in regional on call pool to provide after hours coverage to the institutions covered in the area.
Ensures inmates receive regular psychiatric appointments in compliance with policy and provider recommendations.
Minimum Requirements
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
A master's degree in clinical social work, counseling, or related degree and two (2) years of experience in counseling.
Must be licensed as an LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT or higher.
OR have comparable out of state licensure with eligibility for the SCLLR license, which must be obtained within 6 months.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer LPC, LPC-S, LISW-CP-S, LMFT, or LMFT-S license.
