Overview
The CMA Training Academy is designed to provide a full - time, paid training opportunity to learn, through various teaching methods and on the job training, the information required to take and successfully pass the Certified Medical Assistant exam. At the successful completion of the exam, the trainee will become a CMA. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs routine administrative and patient care support duties in a medical practice to assist medical and / or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensures that the office runs smoothly. At the completion of the program and successful examination, the CMA will transfer to a CMA department position.
Qualifications
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
CMA or RMA within 4 months - varies
Education: H.S. Diploma/GED
Work Experience
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
Attend Academy classes and clinical rotations to learn functions of CMA job responsibilities.
Provide excellent customer service to patients.
Attend CMA in training classes and clinical rotations. Work under the direction of the CMA preceptor during clinical rotations. Complete all mandatory training and competency modules.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $17 per hour - $17 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
