Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Health Screener is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that health screenings are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment for clients and employees, performing all aspects of a health screening, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. This is an independent contractor (1099) position with the possibility of converting to a W2 per diem employee after meeting certain criteria.

Responsibilities

Perform biometric screening at client sites including finger stick blood collection, BMI, blood pressure and other health screening services based on service package.

Perform basic waived testing technical procedures on blood samples and complete required quality control.

Provide exceptional customer service at all health screenings.

Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records.

Participate in training/retraining and continuing education programs as necessary.

Comply with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including use of applicable protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agents.

Understand and comply with applicable federal, state and local laws; adhere to quality assurance procedures and good manufacturing practices.

Maintain HIPAA and OSHA standards while on events.

Perform other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications
At least 1 year of healthcare experience in a professional setting preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1-15 pounds frequently, 16-40 pounds occasionally; >41 pounds only with assistance).

Requires use of phone and PC.

Fine dexterity with hands and steadiness.

Handle stress and emotions.

Concentrate on tasks.

Make decisions.

Adjust to change.

Examine/observe details.

Sit or stand for long periods at a time.

Position requires travel.

Knowledge
Must be knowledgeable of required regulations and comply with them.

Skills

Proficient with finger sticks and manual blood pressure.

Understand and perform complex procedures and techniques and work with complex instrumentation (Cholestech and/or Cardio Check experience preferred).

Proper specimen and reagent handling, labeling, processing, preparation, transportation, and storage.

Excellent customer service internally and externally.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Read, understand and follow detailed procedures.

Basic computer skills including internet/email access.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Education
Some College Courses (Required).

License/Certifications
Meet State Licensure Requirements, if applicable. (Required).
