Responsibilities
River Oaks Hospital (a UHS affiliated hospital) is located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, and serves as a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. The hospital provides care for acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, substance detoxification, trauma‑based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders on a 14‑acre campus with inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient services.

Position Summary
River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented

Nurse Manager . The Nurse Manager provides direct supervision to nursing staff on all shifts across all patient service levels campus‑wide. Responsibilities include conducting physical assessments of residents, implementing residents’ treatment plans, evaluating responses to treatment, providing complete documentation, performing physical restraint assessments, administering medications as prescribed, and providing health‑care education for residents and families. The position requires adherence to the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. A graduate of a Cn accredited nursing program is required, with a BSN mandatory and a master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Required:

One to two years of clinical experience and recent psychiatric nursing experience; one to two years of supervisory/charge nurse experience; infection control experience a plus.

Licensed registered nurse (RN) by the Board of Nursing.

Good communication skills; ability to present information and ideas and maintain effective working relationships interdepartmentally and with medical staff.

Computer software and keyboard proficiency; ability to operate copier, scanner, fax machines, phone systems, and other office equipment; physical requirement to bend, lift, and reach office supplies and files.

Interpersonal skills: effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers, maintaining a professional demeanor.

Business math and problem‑solving skills; strong organizational abilities; ability to focus and perform under stress and manage multiple priorities; sound independent judgment.

Sensory awareness: ability to respond to patient/customer needs by interpreting facial expressions and verbal communications.
