Overview

BJC's Central Staffing Office has an opening for an experienced Med/Surg/Tele RN that is excited to provide patient care throughout our system in a Regional Float opportunity, as part of our Just-in-Time program. Must have 2+ years Med/Surg/Tele experience, and willing to travel between BJC facilities, both MO & IL. Must be able to obtain IL RN license.
You will earn a competitive base salary plus: $20/hour Float differential; Shift differentials for nights, weekends & holidays; BSN differential; Mileage reimbursement. Part-Time, 2x12-Hour Shifts; 7:00 pm - 7:30 am; Every 3rd weekend; 2 Holidays per year.
Part-Time status and travel requirements to multiple facilities are part of this role.

Responsibilities

Float to 12 BJC Healthcare Hospitals within Medical, Surgical, and Telemetry Units.
Provide direct patient care activities including assessment/evaluation, diagnosis and plan implementation to the general nursing floor based on nursing expertise and licensure.
Develop assessment and management strategies considering physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure dimensions of human responses to health problems.
Utilize leadership skills by advocating, coordinating and collaborating with the patient, family, significant others and interprofessional team in assessing needs, planning interventions, providing care, and evaluating outcomes.
Foster a healthy work environment, serve as a mentor/role model for nursing colleagues, students, and others.
Apply evidence-based practice and ensure patient care is aligned with age-specific and clinical needs as described in the department’s scope of service.
Communicate effectively with the patient, family, and other health care providers in collaborative decision making; ensure care is culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, informed, compassionate, and within available resources.
Educate the patient, family, and significant others about measures that promote, maintain or restore health or comfort.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements : Education — Nursing Diploma/Associate's; Experience — 2-5 years; Licenses & Certifications — Basic Life Support (BLS); RN; BJC safety-sensitive position.
Preferred Requirements : Education — Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Experience — 5-10 years.
Must be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful; ability to travel between MO & IL facilities; IL RN license required.
