Responsibilities
Assessment Clinician Opportunity — 4:00pm - 2:30am, Monday - Thursday. The Assessment Clinician provides telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessments, including the history of presenting illness, suicide risks, family dynamics, and supporting psychosocial information. The Assessment Clinician has initial contact with referral sources and potential patients. The Assessment Clinician coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.
Perform initial clinical assessments to determine level of care.
Coordinate and disposition of all referral calls to appropriate level of care.
Complete admissions with psychiatrists and nursing staff.
Complete pre-certification information and forward to appropriate agencies, in conjunction with Business Office and Utilization Review.

Qualifications
We train you to be the best, but there are a few minimum requirements for this position:
Education
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Human Services field, with at least two years crisis experience; Registered Nurse; LCSW/LPCC/LMFT preferred.
Experience
Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
Three years’ experience and knowledge in the area of mental health.
Certifications/Licensure
Human Services related field; Must be eligible for supervision if not independently licensed
Current RN License, if applicable.
Crisis Intervention, CPR, and Assessing & Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) required. These trainings will be offered upon hire.
Other Skills
Knowledge of the following: hospital admissions functions; crisis intervention and risk assessment; psychiatric diagnoses and symptomology; basic chemical dependency; age specific growth and development.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
