Mathematics Researcher (Masters/PhDs) – AI Training
About the Role
What if your expertise in advanced mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons, solves problems, and communicates complex ideas to millions of people around the world? We're looking for Mathematics Researchers with Masters or PhD-level training to work alongside leading AI research teams — crafting rigorous problems, stress‑testing AI reasoning, and helping build the next generation of mathematically capable AI models. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. Training and onboarding support will be provided.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real‑world relevance and intellectual depth
Apply your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas to design complex, rigorous problem sets
Evaluate AI‑generated mathematical reasoning for accuracy, clarity, and logical soundness
Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance
Ensure mathematical rigor and precision across all deliverables — from problem statements to worked solutions
Who You Are
Holder of a Master’s or Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field
Deeply fluent in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
Experienced with Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or applied projects
A precise, detail‑oriented thinker who communicates complex ideas clearly in writing
Comfortable working independently in an asynchronous, remote environment
Fluent in English
Nice to Have
Prior experience with data annotation, data labeling, or AI evaluation workflows
Background in academic research, technical writing, or curriculum development
Familiarity with AI tools or large language model outputs
Experience reviewing or grading advanced mathematical work
Why Join Us
Work directly with cutting‑edge AI research labs on problems that matter
Fully remote and flexible — structure your work around your schedule
Freelance autonomy with the consistency of meaningful, task‑based projects
Apply your advanced training to one of the most impactful technology challenges of our time
Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
