Overview
What You'll be Doing: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment in University facilities. Provide custodial services for the University in areas such as classrooms, offices, research labs, and public spaces. Develop relationships with building occupants and respond to requests. Provide building access by locking and unlocking areas as scheduled by the department. Required to respond to campus crises situations to enhance public safety and minimize infrastructure damage. Under general supervision, clean, sanitize and maintain work, learning, research and public spaces in and around campus facilities using established practices and procedures. Clean, dust and wipe furniture, walls, fixtures and surfaces. Sweep, mop or vacuum floors.

This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as an Associate Custodian or Custodian. The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

Schedule & Pay
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday + Sunday, 10:00 pm to 6:30 am
Starting Pay:
$15.00 plus $0.70 shift differential for a total of $15.70
What We're Looking For
Education and Experience (S1)
No formal education or experience required
Skills Needed:
Must complete onboarding training, or be enrolled in program within 90 days of hire
Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and understand others
Basic math skills and good work organization
Ability to learn and use powered and non-powered floor care equipment
Must be able to work well with others and work in a team environment
Learn and follow safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment as required
Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally
Work outdoors 10% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees
Education and Experience (S2)
Six months of custodial experience
24 months of total work experience
Skills Needed:
Must complete onboarding training, or be enrolled in program, within 90 days of hire
Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and understand others
