Job Summary
LRE seeks an experienced Construction Manager to serve as the onsite representative during construction and commissioning of renewable energy projects, reporting to the Senior Construction Manager. The role bridges engineering designs and physical execution, overseeing mobilization, civil activities, installation, mechanical completion, and initial energization.
Essential Functions
Provide safety leadership on site and ensure contractors and affiliates adhere to the project site safety plan, fostering a zero‑injury environment.
Understand project budgets and schedules; oversee invoicing, draw requests, and evaluate change orders.
Lead a contract inspector/specialist team to ensure construction complies with contracts, plans, specifications, and scope.
Interface with project team members and internal/external departments, tracking issues and expediting solutions.
Maintain clear, concise communication and accurate records throughout all project phases.
Balance the consequences of all tasks across disciplines to ensure safe construction in line with contract and specifications.
Serve as stakeholder liaison, point of contact for landowners, governing authorities, utility companies, financial, legal, and engineering firms.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of construction safety requirements; OSHA 30‑Hour, CPR First Aid, AED, and NFPA 70E qualifications preferred.
Experience with construction QA/QC programs covering civil, structural, collection, substation, interconnection, and SCADA workmanship.
Ability to evaluate third‑party engineered quality tests for geotechnical, concrete, electrical, fiber, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil/electrical/mechanical engineering, or equivalent, with minimum 6 years of renewable‑energy construction management experience.
Experience managing renewable energy project contracts and OEM supplier agreements; able to navigate IFCs, contracts, exhibits, PPAs, GIAs, and land leases.
Extensive project management skills and a track record of achieving complex projects.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficient PC skills and relevant software.
Strong managerial/leadership and time‑management skills.
Flexibility to work at locations across North America for the majority of the year, with an intensive and extended work schedule.
Physical Demands
Ability to climb ladders up to 125 meters and obtain Tower Rescue Certification.
Occasional lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 50 lbs.
Capacity to walk and stand on uneven ground for extended periods.
Ability to enter confined spaces and work at heights above 125 meters.
Work under demanding physical conditions and inclement weather.
May require periods of prolonged sedentary activity.
