
Financial Systems Analyst

The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration and the support, analysis, and continuous improvement efforts for the suite of financial systems used by the Finance Department. The role ensures the administration of the system is handled efficiently and effectively by taking timely action to resolve service desk requests, manage routine systems configuration and maintenance, respond to business questions, and perform root‑cause analysis of any issues. This position is in IS and works closely with Finance, Accounting, and Risk Teams.
Responsibilities
Administration of financial systems including billing, expenses, user security, template design, report development, report books, and screen design.
Lead system implementations, upgrades, integrations (e.g., with Intapp, NetDocuments), process automation initiatives, table changes, and changes to parameters and configuration settings.
Ensure data integrity and balance financial systems, minimizing system downtime.
Plan, design, manage, and implement projects relating to the budget system and other financial systems.
Build and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database views to support reporting and automation needs.
Manage relationships with various software vendors.
Develop and design financial statements and reports.
Work on department or firm‑level projects where necessary.
Research available competitive information and use it to identify areas for improvement, developing recommendations based upon findings.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.
BA/BS in Finance or Computer Science preferred.
At least five years of relevant experience.
Background in law firms required, particularly with experience using the Aderant software suite.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven expertise with Aderant (Expert or Sierra), BillBlast, Expert Image, and Intapp.
Experience with docketing applications such as CompuLaw, Milana, Pattsy or CPI helpful but not required.
Strong knowledge of the legal billing system including prebills, templates, workflows, and electronic billing.
Comprehension of system administration, business processes, user security, user support, project management, balancing, and database table structures.
Knowledge of databases or other reporting and analytical software (SSRS, PowerBI, Xcelerate); advanced understanding of data types, functions, and structures (tables, queries, reports, views).
Advanced knowledge of SQL required.
Ability to work extra hours as needed.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette mandatory.
Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees.
Ability to handle tasks under pressure and adjust work schedule as required.
Manage vendor relationships, including ticket escalation and upgrade advisement.
Expert Administration, Design Studio, and Aderant database tools experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with the administration of time and billing systems.
Experience in a law firm environment essential to understand expectations in a fast‑paced legal setting.
