The
Engineering Intern
will support manufacturing and process improvement initiatives within a production environment, gaining hands-on experience in testing, molding operations, and manufacturing processes. This role offers meaningful exposure to real-world engineering challenges while contributing to continuous improvement efforts on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in a learning rotation within the lab, gaining exposure to product testing, quality requirements, and data collection.
Spend time on the production floor, learning molding operations and manufacturing workflows.
Support and learn injection molding operations, tooling, and material flow.
Assist with and complete a focused, process improvement project, which may include:
Organizing and improving injection mold storage for accessibility and efficiency.
Evaluating oven rack loading/unloading flow and staging layouts.
Reviewing oven rack designs to improve ergonomics and ease of unloading.
Supporting improvements to loading tools at the press.
Observe, document, and analyze current processes to identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop practical solutions.
Present findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
Strong interest in manufacturing, process engineering, and continuous improvement.
Ability to work in a hands-on production environment.
Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to promoting a safe and productive workplace culture.
