Family Law Paralegal – Fort Worth Office
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review, approval, and use by attorney.
Correspond with clients and prepare spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and Proposed Support Decision.
File pleadings with court clerks.
Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.
Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation.
Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving recurring problems that arise in family law cases.
Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant due dates, and prepare correspondence to opposing counsels and/or opposing parties.
Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents.
Job Requirements
Undergraduate degree preferred but not required
Paralegal certificate or certification preferred but not required
5+ years of Texas Family Law experience
Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail
Excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills
Ability to learn and utilize new software, technology and techniques as needed to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplace
Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment
Compensation
GBA offers a competitive compensation package including a market-competitive base salary commensurate with experience, medical, dental, vision, 401k contributions, holidays including a full week between December 25th through January 1st, PTO, annual bonuses, and more.
