Job Title: Order Picker
The Order Picker plays a key role in the warehouse operation by accurately picking, packing, receiving, and stocking a wide variety of plumbing supplies and construction materials. This position works with both large items, such as metal and PVC piping, and small components, such as fasteners and end caps, using RF scanning equipment, pallet jacks, forklifts, and basic computer systems to support efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
Use RF scan guns to locate, identify, and track inventory throughout the warehouse.
Accurately pick, pack, and pull items according to order type, item specifications, and quantity requirements.
Handle a wide range of products, from large metal or PVC pipes to small fasteners and end caps, depending on the phase of construction projects.
Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts safely and efficiently based on inventory type and load requirements.
Organize and maintain the staging area by priority to ensure timely and accurate order processing.
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including sweeping and mopping as needed.
Operate computers at the will‑call booth to process orders and support customer pick‑ups.
Assist internal and external customers with item look‑ups, inventory availability, and order placement.
Support receiving activities, including checking in, organizing, and stocking incoming materials.
Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
Essential Skills
Previous warehouse or labor experience, ideally in order picking, shipping, receiving, or material handling.
Ability to count accurately and maintain strong attention to detail when picking and packing orders.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver items up to 100 lbs as needed in a warehouse environment.
Experience using RF (radio frequency) scanning devices or similar electronic inventory tools.
Experience with order picking and order pulling in a warehouse setting.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts or willingness to learn forklift operation after internal training or certification.
Basic computer skills to operate systems at the will‑call booth and perform item look‑ups.
Effective English communication skills to interact with internal teams and external customers.
Comfort working in an indoor/outdoor warehouse environment in both hot and cold weather conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Receiving‑focused warehouse experience, including handling, checking, and organizing incoming materials.
Forklift experience or certification, with the ability to use forklifts after completing required training.
Experience working in a high‑volume distribution or warehouse center (WDC) environment.
Experience in plumbing supplies, construction materials, or similar industrial products is a plus.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and maintain a tidy staging and storage area.
Customer service experience supporting walk‑up or will‑call customers.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting.

The position is based in a large warehouse that stores a wide range of plumbing supplies, from 10–15 foot pipes to small bolts and fasteners. Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor areas, regardless of weather, so conditions can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, and the ideal candidate feels comfortable working in both. Daily work involves standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering materials throughout the facility. Equipment commonly used includes RF scan guns, pallet jacks, forklifts, push carts, and warehouse computer systems. The environment is active and physically demanding, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient material flow.
