Job Summary
The CDL Driver is responsible for loading, shuttling and delivering product between Snyder's-Lance manufacturing locations to distribution center locations in a tractor‑trailer. They also deliver local backhauls as needed.
Responsibilities
Operate tractor/trailer trucks, straight body trucks, forklifts, floor jacks, and pallet jacks safely and knowledgeably.
Perform all DOT and company required pre‑trip safety inspections and maintain logs and records, including daily trip reports and trailer yard inventory.
Maintain the exterior of all company dock areas, sweep and remove debris, clear snow and ice, inspect trailer restraints, dock equipment, shelters, enclosures, bumpers, lighting, and paint as necessary.
Inspect drop trailer loads to ensure products are properly secured, affix trailer seal on rear doors, and correct discrepancies immediately.
Verify product condition and proper identification at unloading, and ensure delivery accuracy.
Adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines, keep work area clean, store supplies, report defective equipment, and report injuries.
Perform inventory control and order‑management activities at the warehouse on assignment.
Shuttle product or raw material between facilities and work as a switcher when required.
Place paperwork (bill of lading, etc.) on dropped trailers and help break down loads for distribution center deliveries.
Assist with other duties as required.
Qualifications
Must be knowledgeable of Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
High School Diploma or GED required; familiarity with computerized equipment preferred.
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a valid DOT medical card.
License to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift).
Charlotte only – may need to obtain CDL Tank Vehicle Endorsement.
Valid knowledge of safety protocols and ability to perform physical duties such as standing, walking, lifting, and driving safely.
