Role Overview

We are hiring a Per‑day Clinic/Practice Assistant to join the Pulmonary team at Wentworth‑Douglas Hospital (10 Members Way, Dover, NH). The practice operates Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm. The position is onsite and available for per‑diem day shifts.

Essential Functions

Perform routine administrative and clerical duties for a clinical service or physician practice office.

Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.

Greet and assist patients.

Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.

File materials in patient folders, and print appointment schedules.

Process patient billing forms and scan documents into the patient medical record/LMR.

Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.

Open and distribute mail or faxes.

Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed.

Accept co‑payments when required.

Handle, screen and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, referrals, and verify registrations for accuracy.

Monitor patients in the waiting room and respond to any needs for information.

Assist in patient flow processes.

Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent (experience in lieu of a degree not accepted).

0‑1 year of experience in a healthcare office setting.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of office operations, filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.

Ability to use a phone system and manage non‑routine phone calls.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong time‑management and organizational skills.

Experience with medical terminology is preferred.

Benefits & Compensation
Pay range: $17.71–$23.20 per hour. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and recognition programs.
