Social Media Marketing Intern
Salty Ranch Marketing, Dallas, TX, United States
Overview
Summer Social Media & Marketing Internship (For College Credit)
5–10 hours/week | Remote or Dallas-based
Company Description
Salty Ranch Marketing
is a boutique social media and brand strategy studio based in Dallas, helping businesses grow through thoughtful content, strategic storytelling, and creative digital marketing. Working with clients ranging from lifestyle brands and artists to hospitality and service-based businesses, Salty Ranch blends strategy with aesthetics to build brands people connect with.
Founded after experience in both agency settings and in-house marketing director roles, Salty Ranch offers a more personal, collaborative approach than a traditional agency. This is a founder-led business (just me!), which means interns gain direct exposure to the real behind-the-scenes of running and growing a social media business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience, mentorship, and a real look into what it takes to build a career—or even a business—in social media and marketing.
Role Description
This is a highly collaborative internship working directly alongside the founder of Salty Ranch. This is not a traditional “intern doing admin tasks” role—you’ll get exposure to both the creative and strategic side of social media, while learning the backend of how client work and a boutique marketing business actually operates. You’ll support content ideation, social strategy, trend research, graphic design, and campaign execution while contributing fresh ideas and creative perspective.
This role is ideal for someone who is interested in:
Learning how social media works beyond what you see on the front end
Getting mentorship from someone who has worked in agencies and built an independent business
Exploring freelance, entrepreneurship, or one day starting a social media business of your own
Building real-world experience for internship credit in a flexible, supportive environment
This internship can be fully remote , with optional in-person collaboration if you’re based in Dallas.
What You’ll Help With
Social media content ideation and trend research
Graphic creation and content support (Canva/Capcut experience is a major plus)
Assisting with content calendars and campaign planning
Supporting client social media strategy execution
Researching trends, platform updates, and creative opportunities
Contributing ideas for brand growth and engagement
Getting exposure to client communication and the business side of social media
Who You Are
Seeking
college internship credit
(preferred)
Passionate about social media, digital culture, and what’s trending
Creative, hungry, and eager to learn
Strong eye for design, branding, and aesthetics
Interested in both strategy and content creation
Self-starter who can work independently but loves collaboration
Excited about mentorship and learning the “why” behind marketing decisions
Curious about entrepreneurship or building something of your own one day
Preferred Qualifications
Background in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field
Experience or strong interest in social media marketing
Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, IG, TT, Claude or similar creative tools
Basic understanding of social platforms and analytics is a plus
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
