Position Summary

The scope of work for the position is to guide, train, and assist with directing the job tasks as well as perform construction and related functions such as, but not limited to, the essential duties listed below.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General Excavation utilizing earth moving equipment (Backhoes/Mini Excavators) on or around Pipelines and other underground utilities
Backfill and compaction
Lead assigned projects, crews, and company equipment
Work independently or with crews
Drive company vehicle responsibly and also perform regular maintenance, cleaning of vehicle and equipment
Perform Job Safety Analysis on daily basis
Fill and turn in Field/Project/Safety documents by paper or digitally
Represent ACCI and interact with clients to provide customer service
Project, material, equipment and crew coordination
Report job status to Foreman/Field Supervisor/Project Manager
Visual inspections of company DOT vehicles and equipment
Construction duties in the following areas

Use of hand and power tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damages
Engages in general basic electrical work (low voltage, wiring and testing)
Reading and following project documentation and instructions
Operation of small construction equipment
Use of voltage meters
Pipeline/Utility structure locating
Load and unload equipment and materials
Excavation and potholing
Underground and above ground conduit work
Low voltage wiring
Installation of electrical panels
Keep worksite clean and organized free from hazards
Lifting and handling 50+ lbs. material bags
Perform Cathodic Protection/Corrosion prevention tasks and services for gas, oil, and water pipelines and facilities, including power company facilities
Additional duties

Maintain all industry required Operator Qualifications
Driving company DOT vehicles
Additional duties may be assigned
Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required
Backhoe/Earth Moving Operating – MINIMUM 4 years' experience required
4 years or greater of Construction field experience
Strong Desire to learn a new trade
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per insurance requirements
Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screening and physical as well as being subject to random drug testing throughout employment
Must pass client required Operator’s Qualifications (“OQ”)
Knowledge/ Skills /Abilities

Proven experience operating heavy machinery to excavate underground pipelines or utilities required.
Must have ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and Clients
Ability to perform work unsupervised
Mechanical and Electrical aptitude
Operating construction power tools and equipment experience
Obtain and pass OSHA 30 training required
Obtain and pass other safety trainings/certifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to ensure safe and efficient operations
Responsible and self-motivated
Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent travel required (with overnight stay)
Frequent overtime required
Work outdoors in various climates including extreme weather conditions
Ability to work in prolonged and repeated: lifting up to 50 lbs. or more, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, feeling, crouching and crawling.
Ability to physically and visually follow worksite safety instructions
Work is performed with a medium to high risk of potential industry hazards and heavy equipment
Driving a vehicle to and from work sites in all types of weather conditions and in heavy traffic and/or at night
