Responsibilities
The listing describes duties across the Economic Development Specialist series, including conducting research and analysis, developing promotional and industrial expansion programs, identifying opportunities for business expansion, and supporting marketing and relationships with retailers, wholesalers and others. Qualifications (minimum)
Legal Authorization to Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Basic Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a
MAJOR in marketing, business administration, business or commercial law, economics, finance, foreign trade, or a closely related field , which included
three semester credit hours in statistics .
Education Note:
Knowledge of the general principles of economics, business statistical methodology and business management and administration.
Specialized Experience:
Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of professional work experience demonstrating knowledge of marketing and business feasibility research and analysis, including product development, pricing, sales, advertising and promotion, distribution and marketing controls, and familiarity with governmental organizations and programs related to business and economics.
Driver's License:
Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Lift and Carry:
Some positions require the ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights, with or without reasonable accommodation.
