OPS Distributed Computer Systems Specialist
Temporary position located in Tallahassee, Florida. Pay: $24.00 per hour.

Position Overview and Responsibilities
Responsible for providing second‑level desktop support and problem resolution to local and remote users, including technical assistance with software, hardware, communications, printers, databases, and account management. The employee is expected to be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful, and concerned at all times in interactions with customers.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Resolve user‑reported problems using available tools and following procedures, and enforce desktop support service level agreements.

Log, track, route, and respond to all service requests using standard service desk software; maintain communication with customers throughout the resolution process and document actions taken.

Set up new or existing computer equipment, manage computer accounts, and assist with all equipment maintenance including computers, copiers, scanners, air cards, and fax machines.

Research new technologies relevant to duties, recommend products or services, identify improvement methods for existing hardware and software, and attend technical meetings and training sessions.

Analyze, troubleshoot, and correct individual and office network connectivity problems; coordinate with appropriate systems staff as required.

Perform other related tasks as requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of computer operations, hardware, procedures, and systems.

Skilled in the use of computer devices, printers, and scanners.

Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities.

Attention to detail.

High self‑motivation and direction.

Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.

Experience working independently and in a team‑oriented environment.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience providing technical assistance on software, printers, and databases.

Strong customer‑service orientation and skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Application support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of one year of help desk experience.
