Primary Purpose
Management responsibility for the design, testing, implementation, documentation and ongoing performance of daily operational and financial processes required for the Company to purchase power in the PJM marketplace and deliver energy to retail customers under a restructured retail environment. Support other Senior Analysts with day‑to‑day responsibilities and other Company organizations with strategic initiatives such as the design and implementation of new procurement methodologies.
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties
Management responsibility for the detailed design, testing, implementation, ongoing performance and documentation of the business processes for generating load estimates, verifying and submitting energy schedules, submitting capacity obligations and network service billing determinants and calculating and submitting 60‑day reconciliations under PJM. Ongoing responsibility for performing daily processes.
Job Scope
The management of energy, capacity, transmission service and ancillary services purchased and delivered by the Department exceeds $6 billion annually. Market design issues affect wholesale procurement methodologies and costs and retail tariffs, billing and revenues. Daily processes affect short‑and long‑term load and financial forecasts, real‑time operations and after‑the‑fact reporting and settlement throughout the Company. Department members continually work with senior members of Customer Operations, Regulatory and External Affairs, Transmission Operations, Finance, Accounting and outside consultants in performing daily responsibilities and supporting strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance or related field and 4–7 years of experience or, in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 6–9 years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with wholesale marketplace, OATTs and PJM business rules.
Familiarity with restructured retail marketplace and ComEd retail tariffs.
Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Utility industry experience.
Experience and interest in data analytics.
Willingness to lead or guide junior analysts.

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience and other factors: $90,400–$124,300 per year.
Annual bonus for eligible positions: 15%.
