Solo practitioner based in Rockland County, New York, focused on municipal law, real estate litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, and general civil litigation. As our practice grows, we are seeking our first Associate Attorney —someone eager to gain hands‑on experience, contribute meaningfully to client matters, and grow alongside the firm.
This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the principal attorney, receive personalized mentorship, and build courtroom confidence from day one.
Position Overview
The Associate Attorney will assist in all aspects of litigation and client representation, including:
Municipal law matters and local government compliance
Real estate disputes, title issues, and property litigation
Landlord‑tenant proceedings (residential and commercial)
General civil litigation, motion practice, and trial preparation
This role is ideal for a recent law school graduate or newly admitted attorney looking to build a strong litigation foundation in a supportive, high‑responsibility environment.
Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and statutory analysis
Appear in court for conferences, motions, and hearings (with supervision as needed)
Assist with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Contribute to firm operations and professional presentation
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar (or pending admission)
Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
Professional demeanor and client-ready communication
Interest in litigation municipal law, and real estate
Desire to attend court proceedings and municipal meetings in the Hudson Valley and New York City is a must
Compensation
Starting Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 annually
Performance-based increases and growth potential
Travel reimbursement for court appearances and meetings
