Job Description
Role Overview: Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 4 to lead culinary operations at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. This 900‑bed hospital emphasizes patient‑first care, compassion, and clinical excellence with a focus on customer service.

What You’ll Do

Oversee all culinary operations, ensuring excellence in front and back‑of‑house operations in retail, patient services, and catering.

Implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures, including catering, retail menus, garnishing, production, inventory control, cleaning schedules, staffing plans, etc., with Sodexo standards as benchmark.

Monitor audits and implement new menu standards.

Ensure food and physical safety and provide annual safety training for all hourly associates.

Continue sustainability program under the guidance of the Director of Culinary.

Implement innovative ideas in retail, catering, and patient services.

Create interpersonal relationships with hospital clients.

Lead leadership, process improvement, culinary innovation, financial management, team development, and client relationships, embodying a “One Team” attitude.

Strong management skills with prior experience in high‑volume facilities.

Creative and effective problem‑solving and project‑management skills.

Proficient computer skills and exceptional organizational and customer service skills.

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum management experience: 5 years.

Minimum functional experience: 3 years.
