Job Description
As a Student Research Assistant in the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, you will work in a research laboratory, assisting the principal investigator and research staff with a wide range of tasks and experiments under direct supervision. Responsibilities include preparation of reagents, solutions, and maintenance of the laboratory, as well as basic research procedures, inventory management, housekeeping, cleaning of glassware, waterbaths, and autoclaves, and participation in laboratory meetings and departmental activities.

Assist and support research activities of the principal investigator.

Assist research staff with basic research procedures and experiments.

Prepare reagents and solutions for use in experiments.

Perform laboratory maintenance and general housekeeping tasks.

Clean glassware, waterbaths, and autoclave research instruments.

Maintain inventory of research supplies.

Run errands as needed.

Participate in laboratory meetings and department activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education
Students must be enrolled in a degree‑granting program at Ohio State University. One year of college coursework or equivalent is desired.
