We are hiring for a
Field Survey Technician
to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Milton, DE.
The Survey Technician supports the land surveying team by processing incoming data and producing final project deliverables. In this entry-level role, you will provide office production support across survey activities and assist both office and field staff under the direction of the Senior Survey Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Process survey data using current CAD standards; evaluate accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional
Monitor field crew production and provide quality assurance support
Research historical maps, land records, prior surveys, and title reports
Prepare survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
Prepare cadastral maps, existing-conditions plans, and plats from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Perform initial quality control of field deliverables in accordance with standards and best practices
Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure client-specific requirements are met
Assist as a field technician, as needed, to complete survey fieldwork
Maintain professional, productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
Follow established safety and security procedures
Qualifications
Associate degree or certificate in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
Prior experience in land surveying, consulting, or the construction industry preferred
Ability and willingness to learn survey operations, principles, and practices
Working knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents
Understanding of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus
Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry
Basic oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
