Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Day-2 Network Support Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco Nexus datacenter switching and Cisco ACI/APIC fabric operations. This role supports a hybrid environment that includes legacy Nexus platforms (2K/5K/7K), modern Nexus 9K EX/FX/FX2/FX3/GX systems, and ACI leaf/spine fabrics. The engineer will ensure stability, performance, and lifecycle compliance across mission‑critical datacenter networks.
Key Responsibilities
Datacenter Switching (Nexus‑Focused)
Provide advanced troubleshooting and operational support for Nexus 2K FEX (2200/2300 series), Nexus 5K/5600/6000 platforms, Nexus 7K/7700 chassis, Nexus 9K EX/FX/FX2/FX3/GX platforms.
Diagnose and resolve issues involving VPC, VDC, FabricPath, OTV, L2/L3 forwarding, STP, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN/EVPN overlays (NX‑OS mode).
Perform NX‑OS upgrades, ISSU, and line‑card firmware updates.
Support migrations from legacy platforms (N5K/N7K) to modern N9K architecture.
Maintain configuration standards, templates, and operational runbooks.
ACI Fabric & APIC Operations
Manage and troubleshoot ACI constructs such as tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, L3Outs, multipod, and fabric policies.
Operate and maintain APIC controllers (M3/M4/M5): firmware upgrades and pre‑checks, health score remediation, fault/event analysis and RCA.
Troubleshoot ACI‑specific issues such as endpoint learning and mobility, COOP/ISIS fabric behavior, policy resolution and contract enforcement.
Support migrations from classic Nexus to ACI leaf/spine.
Maintain fabric documentation, diagrams, and policy standards.
Cross‑Domain Responsibilities
Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortems.
Work within change management processes for configuration updates.
Track and manage lifecycle risk for EoS/EoL hardware and software.
Collaborate with architecture, security, and NOC teams.
Contribute to operational playbooks and knowledge base articles.
Location & Benefits
