
Retention Coordinator

The Retention Coordinator will primarily support the Michigan Lottery Commission, while also contributing to digital engagement and retention initiatives across other lottery jurisdictions as needed. Reporting to the iLottery Marketing Manager, this role will help execute personalized, data-driven marketing campaigns that drive player engagement, retention, and loyalty. It will play a vital role in managing digital touchpoints—such as email, SMS, and push notifications—while supporting broader promotional and loyalty initiatives that enhance the player experience throughout the customer lifecycle. The ideal candidate is thorough, technically proficient, and collaborative, with experience coordinating CRM and promotional marketing efforts in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
Digital Campaign Management
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of digital marketing campaigns—including email, SMS, and push notifications—that drive player retention, loyalty engagement, and support broader acquisition and conversion goals.
Coordinate and implement the setup of online bonus promotions across web, app, and other communication channels.
Assist with audience segmentation and automation setup using marketing platforms to enable personalized player journeys.
Maintain and distribute the campaign calendar to ensure clear visibility across internal and external partners.
Assist in the creation of promotional content, including banners, copywriting for emails and messaging, and other campaign materials.
Assist in uploading and managing digital assets across platforms, ensuring alignment with campaign strategy and brand standards.
Coordinate reviews and gather required approvals to meet delivery timelines and compliance requirements.
Support the development, QA, and deployment of bonus campaigns, email templates, and other marketing materials across multiple platforms to ensure flawless execution.
Campaign Reporting and Optimization
Monitor campaign execution, ensuring timelines, specifications, and quality benchmarks are met.
Support ongoing testing efforts, including A/B and multivariate testing, to inform campaign optimizations.
Support performance reporting and assist in identifying key insights to improve engagement efforts.
Track campaign and promotion-related expenses and assist in preparing reports on return on investment, participation, and key findings.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with the internal Marketing teams, clients, external vendors, and other internal departments to align campaign planning and execution.
Communicate campaign details to customer-facing teams to ensure they are informed and equipped to support player inquiries.
Contribute to cross-functional coordination and maintain positive working relationships across teams and partners.
Process and Compliance Support
Help document campaign processes and maintain execution standards to ensure consistency and efficiency across jurisdictions.
Assist in maintaining compliance with industry regulations, including U.S. CAN-SPAM requirements and digital marketing standard processes.
Stay informed on trends in digital marketing, loyalty, and player engagement to support the continual improvement of marketing initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. A comparable amount of training and related experience may be substituted.
2+ years of experience in CRM marketing and/or similar role in a digital marketing environment. Direct experience with coordinating and implementing email marketing campaigns and/or loyalty program campaigns is a plus.
Process driven with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Exceptional attention to detail; writing, editing and proofreading skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Familiarity with performance tracking, A/B testing, and data reporting.
Knowledge of email marketing guidelines and compliance requirements.
Design and HTML/CSS experience a plus.
Experience with Bloomreach Engagement a plus.

$59,764 - $110,991 per year
