Job Description
The bioelectronics team works to develop new technologies for the Bosch Healthcare solutions business unit (www.bosch-healthcare.com). We work on cutting‑edge technologies in the field of molecular diagnostics and are seeking a person with strong experience in biochemistry and molecular biology to work closely with our team of engineers and scientists. The primary responsibilities will be the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel biomolecules and bio‑assays with application‑specific properties.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing a PhD degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Bioengineering
Experience in chemical modification, purification, and characterization of nucleic acids (PCR, qPCR, gel‑electrophoresis, DNA extraction, enzymatic digestion, methyltransferase, etc.)
Experience in optimizing conditions for nucleic acid amplification, including incorporation of non‑natural nucleotides and working with complicated templates
High level of written and oral communication
Strong team player who can work independently with minimum supervision
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Desired Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with standard characterization methods (NMR, HPLC, MS, flash‑chromatography, UV‑Vis, fluorescence spectroscopy, PCR, qPCR)
Experience with DNA extraction and purification
Proficiency in developing biochemical assays
Experience with bioconjugation reactions, including click chemistry
Experience in the synthesis and application of modified nucleotides
Familiarity with fluorescence or luminescence‑based detection methods
The U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $31.00 - $55.00 hourly. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
