Job Duties & Responsibilities
Collect periodic stormwater samples
Track and record weather events for stormwater sampling record‑keeping
Perform stormwater inspections (outfalls and facilities) and evaluations
Manage stormwater and wastewater permit compliance schedules
Assess compliance with permit requirements
Prepare NPDES reports
Prepare NPDES permit applications
Prepare stormwater plans
Respond to regulatory inquiries
Travel to multiple locations within the Las Vegas, NV area
Prepare monthly activity reports
Support Air Quality, Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Materials Programs as needed
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
Experience with Nevada stormwater and wastewater permit regulations and permits
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to work independently
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Pass government background check
Physical ability to walk through uneven terrain and industrial areas and perform some heavy lifting (less than 50 lbs)
Physical ability to work outside during rainfall events
Experience with government data management systems
Education and Experience
3 to 5 years of experience preferably in stormwater permit compliance, stormwater permit application preparation, stormwater inspections, and data management
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field
