Milliman's Health Research Team (HRT) is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Senior Business Data Analyst to enhance our data quality review initiatives and to support analytics projects under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Health Data Analytics.
This role is based out of the Milliman office in Chicago, IL, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US or in the office on a weekly basis with flexible work arrangements. Travel to Chicago for 3 consecutive days each quarter is required.

Job Responsibilities:
Ensure the integrity of HRT's data assets and Milliman's products by conducting in-depth data quality & pipeline validation reviews and by applying data governance and retention policies via the following:
Lead comprehensive data quality reviews across HRT's data assets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of healthcare data pipelines and downstream products
Design, develop, and execute systematic data validation frameworks to identify anomalies, discrepancies, and integrity issues within enrollment, claims, risk score, and other healthcare data sources
Investigate and document root causes of data quality failures, partnering with data engineering and analytics teams to implement corrective actions and preventive controls
Establish and maintain data quality metrics, scorecards, and dashboards to monitor ongoing pipeline health and communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels
Collaborate with other HRT data analytics, engineering, and project management professionals to identify, propose, and implement process enhancements
Assist in completing a wide array of advanced analytics for approved Health Research Board (HRB) initiatives and Milliman practice client projects
Implement updates to Milliman tools and carry out monthly data processing associated with being a CMS Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC) seat holder
Provide support to Milliman's practices via our help desk system by answering a variety of questions, most often about our data assets and data use policies
Collaborate with HRT finance, operations, and project management teammates through providing technical and healthcare data expertise
Communicate progress, status, issues, decisions on a regular cadence
Minimum requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar fields
Demonstrates a strong capability to consistently produce high quality, accurate deliverables on schedule and effectively communicate progress, outcomes, and recommended next actions
Proficiency in multiple health care data analytics topics such as, but not limited to pricing, provider contracting, Medicare Advantage bids, risk scores, clinical quality, health care economics, reserving, or financial reporting
Five or more years of experience in the following areas:
Coding in SQL and/or Python
Querying and analyzing enrollment, claims (medical or pharmacy), risk score data, or other common healthcare data sources
Performing advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, Power Query, and VBA automation
Practicing intermediate or higher knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat
Robust business knowledge of at least two healthcare lines of business (e.g. individual, employer group, Medicare, Part D, Medicaid, Dental, etc.)
Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud-based data analytics and AI platforms
Travel to Milliman's Chicago office for 3consecutivedays each quarter isrequired

Compensation
The overall salary range for this role is $85,100 - $161,575. For candidates residing in:
Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Newark, San Jose, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia:
$97,865 - $161,575
All other states:
$85,100 - $140,500
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc .
