Mental Health Technician – Full-Time
Days, nights, and weekends. 12-hour shifts: 7 p-m, 7 a-m. Shift differentials range from $2-$4 per hour.

Responsibilities

Work as an active member of the patient treatment team under the direction of a registered nurse.

Provide milieu management and continuous patient-care supervision, interactions, and role modeling.

Ensure a safe environment, lead therapeutic MHT patient groups, conduct Q15 rounds, and one-to-one patient supervision.

Participate in crisis intervention situations as needed.

Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient and maintain awareness of the individual plan of care including goals and interventions.

Qualifications

High-school graduate or equivalent.

At least one year of previous experience in a healthcare setting or behavioral-health experience strongly preferred.

Current BLS certification required.

Completion and maintenance of aggression management/crisis intervention/restraint training (training may be obtained during new-hire orientation).

Pass competency assessments within 90 days of hire.

Ability to work overtime and flexible hours.

Must be able to prioritize workload, multi-task, problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, and provide high-quality patient care.

Excellent listening, communication, prioritization, and follow-through skills.

Physical Requirements
Move efficiently to meet patient needs and intervene in patient aggression. Can sit or walk during shifts. Able to hear, respond to signals, alarms, and codes. Bend, reach, stoop, and write legibly. Read instructions, complete documentation, and reports. Restrain an aggressive patient with a team in a safe and therapeutic manner. Lift, position, or move patients (up to 30 lb) when required.
