Schedule (Full-time): Weekday flexibility and rotating weekends required.
Job Highlights
Specialty-focused role supporting Internal Medicine and Dentistry/Oral Surgery
Floating support: help other departments as needed to support patient care and hospital flow
Anesthesia-heavy position: induction, monitoring, recovery, and advanced nursing care
Schedule: Full-time; Weekday flexibility and rotating weekends (shift times vary based on coverage)
Hands‑on advanced procedures: dental radiographs/cleanings, oral surgery support, and specialty diagnostics
Team environment in a 24‑hour emergency & specialty referral hospital
Growth support through continuing education and skill development pathways
About You
You are a skilled and adaptable Specialty Veterinary Technician supporting multiple specialty departments, including Internal Medicine and the Dentistry and Oral Surgery departments. You provide high quality, compassionate patient care while confidently moving between specialty departments as needed. You communicate clearly with pet parents and team members, remain calm in high pressure situations, and are eager to continue expanding your technical and specialty skills.
Required
Your Experience & Skills
3+ years recent experience in a veterinary practice as a Veterinary Technician
Strong anesthesia experience required
Ability to assist in advanced specialty veterinary medical procedures
Patient care experience required
High school diploma or GED required
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Preferred
Internal Medicine and/or Dentistry experience strongly preferred
Veterinary Technician license (LVT) or VTS preferred
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
Patient Care & Anesthesia
Safe animal handling, venipuncture, and catheter placement
Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Medication calculation and administration
Post‑procedure patient monitoring and nursing care
Internal Medicine Support
Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Support imaging and laboratory diagnostics
Monitor and care for hospitalized patients
Dentistry & Oral Surgery Support
Dental radiographs and professional dental cleanings
Ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and hand instrumentation
Assist with oral surgery and advanced dental procedures
Provide pre‑ and post‑operative dental patient care
Communication & Teamwork
Communicate clearly with pet parents and specialty teams
Maintain accurate medical records
Support a Fear Free, collaborative work environment
