Responsibilities
The Certified Nursing Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients. This role also involves assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Requirements
Education, Training or Certifications: High School graduate or equivalent, Current BLS Provider Status, Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing, Completion of a Monitor course through MDIH or another arrhythmia course with validated competency.
Experience Required: Recent training/experience in medical terminology and delivery of patient care.
Special Requirements: Basic computer skills.
Cognitive Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Must be able to perform at high performance under stressful situations, prioritizing, multi-tasking and following through.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand/work for most of an 8-12 hour shift.
Must be able to bend/lift 25-50 lbs (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).
Environment
Potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
Potential for exposure to contagious diseases.
Potential for periods of high stress.
