Mammography Technologist - 13 Week Contract

Schedule

This position offers a schedule of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, working 5 days a week with rotating weekends every couple of months. There are no holidays or on-call duties required.
Job Description

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations in accordance with ACR requirements. This role includes assisting with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures within the Breast Center.
Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
Conduct mammographic imaging for breast needle localization procedures and stereotactic procedures including set up and clean up.
Assist in procedures utilizing ultrasound guidance.
Provide immobilization devices, select proper technical factors, and operate equipment for specific procedures.
Properly identify patient films and complete patient requisitions.
Assist with quality control procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations.
Provide patient education and instructions pre and post procedures.
Document pertinent patient information in the Breast Center chart as necessary.
Modify and deliver care specific to the needs of the patient population served.
Undertake other duties and projects as assigned by the Chief Mammography Technologist.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum 2 years prior experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Must have ARRT certification and an active Diagnostic Radiography License.
Mammography certification must be obtained within the first three months of employment.
