About the Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Studio City, CA is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department!
Pay
Pay:
$24.00 – 49.00 / hour (starting point dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system).
Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
Example:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 shift differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 shift differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 shift differential

Responsibilities
Act as a liaison between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors.
Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take X‑rays, and obtain lab samples.
Support anesthesia by inducing, monitoring, and recovering patients.
Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Set up ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway) and clean/maintain equipment after procedures.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
Additional job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
Experience with endoscopic, ultrasound, and radiology procedures preferred.
Ability to perform medical mathematics calculations.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
