Status: Part-Time
Shift: Day
Pay Range: $44.75 - $54.88 per hour (New Jersey)
Responsibilities
Administer aerosol medication, Chest PT and related medical gas therapies per physician orders or approved protocols.
Assess and interpret patient status using laboratory and radiology results, vital signs, and other assessments to identify and provide appropriate care.
Evaluate therapy orders for completeness, appropriateness, quality, and effectiveness using evidence‑based practice guidelines.
Complete all patient records and documentation according to department policy, including patient assessment, plan of care, E‑MAR, patient education, and performance improvement fields.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the use of oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, and high‑flow nasal cannula (HFNC) for neonate, infant, pediatric, and adult patient populations, including device and interface selection, application, operational verification, and therapy modes.
Use invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation with appropriate device selection, application, troubleshooting, and mode management for neonate, infant, pediatric, and adult populations; assess effectiveness three times per shift.
Perform emergency airway care procedures and maintain patient ventilation during emergent situations.
Analyze arterial, capillary, and venous blood samples.
Complete all Healthstream online training within the specified timeframe.
Comply with all department, infection prevention, and safety policies and procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge of national patient safety goals and relevant standards from the Joint Commission, Department of Health, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Active NJ Respiratory Therapist license.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
Knowledge and skill in pulmonary therapy modalities as described in the responsibilities.
