
Research Technician II - Atherosclerosis Clinical Research Laboratory (ACRL)

Baylor College of Medicine, Section of Cardiovascular Research in Houston, Texas is searching for a Research Technician II for the Atherosclerosis Clinical Research Laboratory (ACRL). The potential candidate should enjoy working in a clinical laboratory setting with indirect supervision. The ACRL is accredited by both the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and the applicant is required to participate in the laboratory’s ongoing QC and QA programs. Applicants with proficiency in the use of common PC software programs and an interest in operating laboratory instruments will be pre.
Job Duties
Prepares and conducts research experiments in a clinical laboratory setting
Daily responsibilities will include sample processing, database entry, and routine sample analyses using ELISA, spectrophotometric and fluorometric assays.
Documents results of experiments and prepares data reports for review by supervisor.
Participates in ongoing Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures of the laboratory.
Demonstrates proficiency in common software programs and an interest in operating laboratory instruments.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with previous experience working in a CAP/CLIA accredited laboratory will be preferred.
Work Authorization Requirement
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
