Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care for PCU patients, including ongoing assessment and monitoring of stability and response to treatment
Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders, with attention to potential adverse reactions
Monitor telemetry, interpret critical data, and escalate changes in condition to the medical team as needed
Document care and patient status accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure continuity of care across shifts
Collaborate with physicians, case management, pharmacy, and ancillary staff to develop and implement care plans; participate in discharge planning and patient education
Maintain infection control practices, adhere to safety and quality standards, and support patient comfort and safety during nights
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification required
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; schedule may vary within 7pm–7am window
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a PCU environment and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team
