Associate Researcher II - Hematology & Medical Oncology

An Associate Researcher II position is available within the laboratory of Dr. Marcellino at the Tisch Cancer Center, division of Hematology/Medical Oncology. The lab focuses on understanding mechanisms of tumor cell dissemination during metastasis using advanced microscopy techniques, analytical imaging approaches, and molecular biology and biochemistry methods. The candidate will work in a stimulating scientific environment.

We seek an enthusiastic, organized, and highly motivated individual responsible for daily laboratory maintenance and performing supportive research work. The individual will report directly to a Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities

Conduce experiments using advanced research techniques specific to the project subject, under limited supervision.

Analyze and assist in interpreting moderately complex results.

Perform assays to support research studies.

Assist in the collection, analysis, and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.

May train less‑experienced research staff and postdoctoral fellows in research techniques and equipment use.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Two years in a research environment, or one year plus a Master’s Degree in sciences or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques such as tissue culture, molecular biology skills, DNA isolation, PCR, electrophoresis, and protein biochemistry.

Experience in microscopy, immunofluorescence, live‑cell imaging, and in‑vivo imaging skills highly desirable.

Willingness to work with rodents and comfortable with mouse handling.

Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of standard research concepts.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $66,482.07 – $84,560 annually, depending on factors such as experience and education. Additional compensation such as bonuses, differential pay, or other benefits are not included in this range.
