Alan Lescht & Associates, P.C., a leading employment law firm, is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Paralegal to join our team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with

2 to 5 years of law-firm experience

who is eager to contribute to client service and day-to-day litigation support. The Paralegal will support all aspects of case management, e-filing and discovery, client communications, file organization, and general office support.

Job Duties

Meet with attorneys and clients to discuss assigned cases, projects, and next steps.

Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, filings, summons/civil cover sheets, demand letters, and client affidavits.

Assist with discovery, including preparing responses and coordinating collection of client information and documents.

File motions and pleadings in accordance with court and administrative forum procedures.

Coordinate litigation logistics and manage calendared deadlines, including scheduling court reporters, depositions, and service of complaints, summons, and subpoenas with external vendors.

Support client management by scheduling calls, requesting and tracking information, and monitoring key deadlines.

Organize and maintain case files in Box (cloud-based file storage and management system).

Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include creating trial binders and attending trials and hearings.

Assist with attorney’s fees calculations and preparation of fee petitions.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear and professional client-facing communication.

Working knowledge of filing requirements for state/federal courts and administrative forums (e.g., EEOC, MSPB).

Understanding of legal terminology, litigation processes, and court pleadings.

Professional, service-oriented approach with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

Effective time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe.

Preferred Experience

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.

Related experience at a similar size law firm preferred.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Ability to work in-person, with telework flexibility as permitted.
