Location: YMCA Camp Leif Ericson
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus one overnight shift weekly (Thursday nights, paid with additional overnight stipend per week)

Position Overview
YMCA Camp Leif Ericson is seeking a qualified and compassionate Camp Nurse to support the health and well‑being of campers and staff throughout the camp season. This role is responsible for providing routine and urgent medical care, managing camper health needs, and ensuring a safe camp environment. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic outdoor setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide care for routine medical needs, including minor injuries, illnesses, and general health concerns.
Assess and respond to urgent and emergent medical situations, following appropriate protocols.
Administer first aid and medication in accordance with camp policies and physician instructions.
Maintain accurate and confidential health records for campers and staff.
Communicate effectively with camp leadership regarding health concerns or incidents.
Monitor and support campers who are ill or require rest periods away from activities.
Ensure proper storage, documentation, and administration of medications.
Communicate with parents in the event of sick or injured campers.
Overnight Responsibilities (Thursday Nights)
Remain on-site overnight to support camper health needs.
Administer prescribed medications to campers as scheduled.
Respond to any overnight medical concerns or emergencies.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or other applicable licensed/certified healthcare credential as required by state regulations.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or equivalent MedAid certification).
Experience working with children or in a camp, school, or similar setting preferred.
Ability to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately in a variety of medical scenarios.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move around camp grounds and respond quickly to emergencies.
Ability to lift and assist campers as needed.
Compensation
Weekly stipend of $1,020 paid biweekly, plus an additional overnight stipend weekly.
