Summary
The Senior Patient Access Advocate plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of Patient Access Services. This position is responsible for fostering clear, proactive communication across the department, identifying opportunities for improvement, and addressing issues that impact service quality and workflow efficiency.
This role requires strong collaboration, professionalism, and the ability to build positive relationships with team members as well as internal and external customers. The Senior Patient Access Advocate helps ensure a smooth, supportive, and service-focused experience for everyone who interacts with Patient Access Services.

Responsibilities
Support daily operations and assist with weekend leadership coverage for registration teams.
Coordinate staff workflow, including scheduling breaks and monitoring work queues.
Maintain department supplies and ensure forms are fully stocked.
Train new team members and serve as an EPIC subject matter expert.
Crosstrain across Patient Access areas and provide coverage at other CDS facilities.
Participate in Quality Assurance activities to ensure accuracy of patient data.
Deliver strong customer service and use service recovery skills when issues arise.
Collaborate with ER and clinical departments to resolve operational concerns.
Lead weekend huddles and communicate key issues or updates to leadership.
Assist with workflow initiatives and cover open shifts as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
High school or equivalent
Experience
Two to three years of healthcare experience in ambulatory or hospital setting with significant provider interaction
Familiarity with ICD10, CPT and Medical Terminology
Two to three years of customer service application in any setting
EMR/EHR experience preferred
Must pass EPIC competency for Registration at completion of Epic Clerical Training class
